BASELWORLD 2013

Good evening my Lovelies!

I finally had my last exam today – the next few month I’ll have to write two diploma theses and that’s it! I’ll be a free girl *yeah*.

After my exam, which I had this morning, I rushed home to change my clothes; in the afternoon I met my sister in Basel and we both went to an exhibition called BASELWORLD. It is a World Watch and Jewellery Show, where the world’s most renowned brands display their newest collections of watches, jewellery and precious-stones. Since my sister and I work in this sector, we got free tickets to visit BASELWORLD. For me it was the first time – my sister already went there three times before, so she already knew quite a lot of this exhibition. She works as a goldsmith, so she could guide me through the halls and give me a short lesson on gemstones & Co.

The exhibition was awesome! My heart skips a beat, when I see watches! There were sooo many beautiful wristwatches, every single piece is unique and all the special functions and complex processing surprises me again and again.

May the following photos won’t look very impressive to you – it is quite difficult to catch the magnificent “charisma” of a watch or jewellery in a photo. These luxurious creations only look really breathtaking on the spot.

Chopard, my fav watch! Love it!
Someday I will buy one (灬>ω<灬)

*omg* this was really COOL!
It looked amazing from near and far.
Let’s have a closer look…

There were thousands of movements
(internal mechanism of a watch) hanging on a wire rope.

On the spot these pieces were glittering and sparkling.

Thank you Sis, for guiding me through the exhibition ^.^

Japanese “Thank You” – Early Spring Festival

Good morning pretty flowers!

As promised, here are the impressions of the Japanese “Thank you”- Early Spring Festival in Basel. We arrived just at the right time to pick some delicious Sushi from a big flowerbed.  It was an amazing idea to put the Sushi on the salad leaves and garnish with floral radish and rabbit apples (the typical way how Japanese cut their apples for an Bento Lunch box). It was a marvellous flower garden.  May I should try this out when I invite my friends for dinner the next time – would be awesome as an appetizer.

Beside the concerts you could buy Wagashi (traditional Japanese confectionery), sweet and savoury breads, Bento lunch boxes, Arare (Japanese rice crackers) and other yummy stuff from the land of the rising sun. I was standing in front of the Japanese bread stand *omg* they a wide choice of buns, it was very hard to decide. I ended up buying a アンパン (Anpan; bread filled with red bean paste), a 揚げあんぱん(Age-Anpan; fried bread filled with red bean paste) and a クリームパン (Kurimu Pan; bread filled with cream). Mhhh~ *tottemo shiawase!* *very happy*!

International Motor Show Geneva 2013

Ribbon1 500x50or

Hello my Dears,

this entry will be interesting – especially for my masculine readers.   I have been at the 83rd International Motor Show in Geneva today. To be honest, I don’t know many car brands and I am totally like ehmmm?!!!… when it comes to: “which car do you prefer…?”. Anyhow, I already wanted to go to that exhibition last year, but because of my busyness I had to skip it. The exhibition period this year was very convenient for me.

The expo was quite crowded – in particular at the high value luxury cars. *OMG* everybody wanted to see and take a photo of the legendary Lamborghini, which is around 4.5 millions! You will find the picture at the end of my blog post. Today, I learned a lot of new car brands (but already forgot it *lol*) and saw many special, strange and ugly forms of car models.

many many MANY people xD

I like the colour (。>‿‿<。 )

Hello Sweeties!
Did you have a good weekend?

We had an exotic school exhibition on Saturday. To get some inspirations and become more familiar with tourism trends, we will have exciting tours to hotels and go to Stanserhorn to experience the mountain feeling. The first program was the Tropical House in Wolhusen. There are more than 100 agricultural crops in the green houses and you also can buy matured fruits (mango, banana, papaya…), which were produced in Wolhusen.

The temperature was so pleasant ~w~ It almost felt like being in Southeast Asia.

Hello my Lovelies!

My yesterday was pretty awesome! I really felt that I was in Japan for one day. I have been to Leysin (which lies in the French part of Switzerland and was far faaaar away from Lucerne) to have a look at the Kumon Leysin Academy of Switzerland (KLAS), a high school for Japanese. I have never heard about this school before and by pure chance my Mum told me that there is a Open House Event on Saturday 16 February 2013. And lucky me didn’t have any school lessons yesterday, so I took this chance to go there with my Japanese Otaku Friends.

The Event was actually a kind of a Bunkasai – a Japanese Cultural Festival. People who are interested in the school or those who would like to enter the school are welcome to see how the atmosphere and the schoolwork are like. The classrooms turn into restaurants or cafés and the students perform dances, concerts and plays. (May some of you know it from Mangas or Animes ).

At KLAS you could attend to Tea Ceremonies, watch how one makes Mochi (Japanese rice cake) and at the performance area you could listen to traditional Japanese music concerts. Some scary moments you could experience in the Haunted House. The restaurant offered delicious Japanese food; Katsu Curry, Negitoro Don, Nimono and many more food were sold at generous prices. Furthermore, you could try on a Yukata/Kimono, try your hand at some Japanese games like Kingyo-sukui, Omikuji, Origami or Kendama and at the Calligraphy room, students wrote your name in beautiful Japanese letters. What surprised me the most was that almost all activities were free.

As you will see, I made a lot of pictures, so this post might be heavy! And I edited a video which is full of marvellous impressions of the Open House Event.

Thank you to my friends, who made me laugh a lot on that day. And Arigatou to all the Japanese boys and girls, teachers and helpers of Kumon Leysin Academy of Switzerland, for this awesome Event! It made so much Fun at KLAS and I look forward to participate again next year.
